Description
This workshop combines a cooking class and an Andean-style light lunch that will present you and your family the most traditional Peruvian food. Please talk to us so that we can adapt the lunch to any specific diet.
Uchucuta is a traditional Peruvian spicy salsa or sauce. Our friend, Senor Luis, will make it using a combination of rocotos (a special type of hot pepper), peanuts, Huacatay leaves (Peruvian black mint), white cheese, garlic, and coriander leaves.
Surrounded by colourful mountains, hummingbirds, and horses, our Picanteria will be the very special place where you’ll learn and participate in the making of Uchucuta using a Batan, an ancient culinary instrument of the Andes.
Demo includes:
- English-speaking facilitator and a local Uchucuta maker
- All the implements you’ll need for this activity
- Local seasonal fruit juice
- Light Andean-style lunch
